We are Anema (pronounced Ah-ne-ma) a budding new Australian label inspired by the universal language of flowers. Some may call us Anthophiles. Creatures draw to blooms, lovers of flowers. Pair that with being confessed bag-loving enthusiasts and you’ve got us to a tee.

Anema (pronounced ah-ne-ma), means ‘soul’ in Latin and we are passionate about creating beautiful pieces to share the joy and universal language of flowers, so you can carry a little more soul with you everyday. We always choose quality over quantity. Every piece is made to be worn with care and intention. It’s not just about looking good. It has to work beautifully too.

Every flower tells a story. Every person has a flower story. And every bag holds a memory, a moment, a chapter in the life of the you carrying it, and the people in your life woven into it. MEET THE FOUNDING
Anthophile (Flower-Lover)
Alysha Anema is the Founder and Creative Director behind Anema. A self-confessed bag lover and unofficial daily sherpa, she carries a lot most of the time. Her love of flowers bloomed young, helping her mum in her floristry business. From de-thorning over 200 roses to scaling ladders to help with floral installations. Watching people from all walks of life be deeply moved and impacted by the simple power of flowers. Like the time her mum did something a little extra special for a woman’s second wedding. Her first had ended due to domestic violence, and the joy that bloomed on that bride's face said it all. Or when they filled a whole room with flower installations and saw people unfurl, a sense of wonder, when entering into that space.
Scroll forward to now, Alysha while running her branding and illustration studio felt like creating something special. Something keepsake, and full of colour. Pieces that inspire and carry the same impact as flowers. Practical for women living full extraordinary lives, always on the move, juggling it all and blooming through every season. Anema brings together Alysha’s three great loves: flowers, bags and beautiful design.
